Because of the difficulty, executives appear to fail often in their efforts to make a big cultural change. Many more don’t seem to even try. As a result, some managers have probably never seen a successful case of significant change of this kind, at least in a firm of any size. And they may logically wonder if it is really possible. It is, and the case of ICI is a good example.
